10th of 16 volumes, "the new edition" by Rivington, London, published 1826
The Works of the Right Honourable Edmund Burke is a collected edition of the writings and speeches of Edmund Burke (1729–1797), an influential British statesman, political thinker, and writer known for his support of constitutional limitations on government, opposition to the French Revolution, and contributions to conservative thought.
Volume 10 brings to a close Edmund Burke’s extensive campaign in the impeachment trial of Warren Hastings, which had spanned multiple volumes (especially Volumes 6–10). This volume features Burke’s Final Speeches and Closing Arguments (delivered in 1794) in the House of Lords — his summation of a years-long moral, political, and legal prosecution of British misconduct in India.
