  • Titled Black Spruce (often associated with Thomson's 1915 fall wilderness studies), this vibrant landscape showcases Tom Thomson’s mastery of bold colors, expressive impasto brushwork, and dramatic Northern Ontario skies.
  • Tom Thomson (1877–1917) was a seminal pioneer of Canadian landscape art whose transcendent depictions of Algonquin Park directly inspired the formation of the Group of Seven following his tragic, mysterious drowning in Canoe Lake.
  • Pencil-titled "Black Spruce", signed in plate/pencil pencil lower right "By: Tom Thomson", and individually numbered 24/995 from a strict limited edition run, complete with an embossed red seal stamp in the corner.
  • Encased in a grand, cherry-toned wood frame with sophisticated multi-tier matting—featuring a deep burgundy inner border and accent trim that beautifully highlights the rich autumnal hues of the artwork.   Features a clean sealed paper dust cover on the reverse, strong hanging wire attached, and an informative biographical plaque detailing Thomson's legacy.
  • Condition Assessment: Descent vintage condition throughout; the print colors remain exceptionally rich and vivid, the glass is clean and clear, and both the frame and inner matting are sturdy and well-preserved with  light shelf wear on the outer frame edges.
  • Dimensions: Frame measures 21" x 22".
