Like most retail operations, it would be challenging for Habitat GTA ReStore to continue to be such a success without our vans and trucks. Whether it’s delivering that new loveseat to a customer, transporting a deconstruction team to a home that’s donating their kitchen, or helping us to move inventory from one store to another, vehicles keep ReStore moving. But keeping an entire fleet of dozens of vans and trucks of all sizes in top condition is no easy task – a van won’t just tell you when it needs new brakes.
That’s why Habitat for Humanity GTA is thrilled to announce that Mobilizz Inc. (Mobilizz) has made an incredible donation, equipping ReStore vehicles with new telematics equipment. Telematics is a cutting-edge technology that allows vehicles to be monitored remotely, in real-time. The system can identify which vehicles are coming up for maintenance or track routes to make sure drivers are taking the safest and most fuel-efficient way.
For the past 20 years, Mobilizz has been a leading provider of connected fleet solutions to small to medium organizations across North America. Co-CEO of Mobilizz, Alex Candy, said he’s proud to support Habitat for Humanity GTA.
“We are so excited to be able to provide vital real-time fleet information to Habitat GTA so that they can optimize their operations, uncover savings, and improve safety for their drivers and communities,” said Candy.

The telematics equipment was recently installed in the Habitat GTA ReStore fleet, and it’s already helping to make an impact. Not only is it possible to better track vehicles, volunteers and staff are saving time when it comes to physically inspecting vans and trucks.
Habitat GTA Executive Vice President Rob Lee says the latest upgrade ultimately benefits Habitat’s mission.
